CORBIN MADE SEATS
THE WEIGHT
Lighter versions MX Control Tech seats are currently being tested with the goal of bringing the overall seat weight down to at least 3.5 lbs without compromising strength and durability.
THE LOOKS
Since the addition of the orange strip on the sides, “stunning” is the most common word we hear when people take their first look at the seat. There are always a few “fashion police” that get stuck on it looking different than other seats, but that typically changes to a positive after they give it a good test ride.
THE COST
Ask any US or Chinese manufacturer to produce a copy of this Corbin-made seat for less money and they will simply say it can’t be done. It is not possible to purchase an off-road motorcycle seat that is more comfortable and able to outlast all others, is made of leather and super strong gripper material, with a stylish material design and stitching presenting a bling factor that makes a bike look amazing.
CONTROL SURFACE TECHNOLOGY BUILT INTO THE SEAT
The MX Control Tech seat is more than just an everlasting blinged-out seat. Builtin to its design is a Patented Traction Control System like no other. The design has evolved through four years of intense testing and development on a wide variety of tracks, trails and terrain.
Do some of us spend $500+ on a new helmet, or boots, knee braces, plastics and decals, wheels, power mods and so on? When we can, yes, absolutely! That’s why our customers put great value on the MX Control Tech seat, because it not only looks great and lasts long, but…. it gives the standing rider a completely new control surface ushering in a paradigm shift in the rider’s ability to control the bike and minimize fatigue.
THE HISTORY
For as long as there’s been a standing off-road motorcycle rider, there have been thoughts of how to grip and control the bike with the legs while allowing the body and legs to freely transition and move around the bike.
Over 10 years ago a rider at Transworld Motocross fashioned something similar on a KX250 with pieces of a crossbar pad held to the seat with duct tape. More recently Dean Wilson created a professional looking extended seat for riders to somewhat grip the bike when standing and Blake Baggett’a designed a seat bump to prevent a sitting rider from sliding backward.
Currently, Steg Pegz has been winning the approval of many riders around the world, especially in Australia. It’s another product designed to solve the long-standing need to control the motorcycle with more than just the hands. Additionally, there are many frame and seat gripping methods and materials attempting to increase the abilities of the rider to control the bike with the power of the legs.
The MX Control Tech Seat has accomplished this need with an elegant, powerful and effective solution. This radical seat design is giving riders a completely new ability to control their bike in ways never before experienced.
ALL MX CONTROL TECH PRODUCTS – FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE WITH CAUTION
The wow and surprised look on riders faces is most often seen when they first jump on a bike fixed on a stand. They grip the MX Control Tech seat, throw the bike forwards and backward with their legs while standing on the pegs and are instantly delighted with the prospect of having a greater command over the bike than ever before.
It takes a bit of time to master and get the most out of the MX Control Tech Seat. Remember, it’s a totally new control surface that is powerful and effective when used correctly. It is advised to first get familiar with the seat by practicing hard accelerations and stops while standing and gripping the bike with the legs. Due caution is advised for first-time riders while gripping the bike in jumps, big bumps and whoops.
This is the same caution one would use as a first time snowboarder to avoid catching an edge, a rollerblader going over the high side, or just about any extreme sport that requires caution and practice to master.
As in any sport one wishes to master, obtaining muscle memory with this seat is the goal. Rider’s who have spent the time to master this powerful new control surface never think about when and where their legs are gripping the bike. They seamlessly transition from the back grips for heavy acceleration, to over the front grips for climbing and back to the middle for downhill and extreme braking. They claim that they can ride faster, and longer, and with more confidence.
After riders get comfortable with this radical seat design, they wish to never ride without it again.
Some Knee Braces Can Tear the Seat if Brace Padding is Not Used.
Most knee braces come with padding for the outside of the brace hinge to prevent scratching and marring of the sides of the motorcycle. The insides of some jerseys are lined with leather, which will help prevent some knee braces from wearing and tearing the MX Control Tech Seat. It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure they are preventing the seat from knee brace damage.
Holding onto an off-road motorcycle with just the hands is now a thing of the past.
This one-time purchase will let you Grip’n Rip Like Never Before!
